because i simply have to acknowledge it.
I had off from work today, since Chris and I spent last night in AC for our 1-year anniversary. (Happy anniversary to the best guy in the whole wide world. I love you!) On the ride home, news broke about the K&K divorce. (I hadn’t checked out Tumblr all day, or any news source for that matter, so we can thank my boyfriend for being an avid tweeter.) I knew it would end soon, but THIS...

the education of dee dee ricks.
Did anyone happen to see the documentary that aired last night on HBO?  Synopsis: Dee Dee Ricks was living her dream—she had a successful business, two beautiful kids, and a whirlwind social life. Then, at age 39, breast cancer changed her world. Director Perri Peltz candidly tracks the emotional rebirth of a survivor determined to help make life easier for less fortunate cancer patients...

a tumblr dream.
What I just experienced was a Tumblr’s dream. At least, what I’d imagine one to be. My company is putting together a holiday gift guide for 2011, and my team was responsible for calling in a wide array of products. We just spent the past hour and a half testing and discussing them. All I could think was, Tumblr! Tumblr! This boardroom was a Tumblr’s safe-haven, full of odds, ends and...

surisburnbook: Kiernan Shipka, age 11, did a piece for Lucky Magazine about her favorite outfits. Here is an excerpt:  “I just was reading Taviʼs blog, The Style Rookie, and immediately ran upstairs and put this number on. Itʼs totally vintage inspired—and the pants are actually vintage Floriane. The cardigan is Olive Juice, the glasses are Chanel and the headband is Jessica Oilette.” ...

perspective.
Sometimes all you need is an unexpected email from a great friend to put a smile on your face. It’s very easy [for me] to feel like I’m spreading myself thin lately. But at the end of the day, I’m grateful for all of the people in my life, that are so worth making these days a bit more hectic, busy, and fulfilling.

One thing that gets lost in the cell phone era
keylimeliving: passthemike: Is hanging up on someone.  Back in the day you could physically slam a phone down and on the other end they would hear a click.  It was a great feeling.  Now you tap your screen and they just think that you lost reception in a shitty cell area. Hahha, sooo true!
