if i had a dollar for every time a girl uploaded a picture to facebook of flowers on her desk at work, telling me that her boyfriend sent them for no reason and is the best…
I would have a lot of dollars.
I think men started doing this regularly strictly for Facebook credit. I wonder how many girlfriends tell their boyfriends that they want flowers to work for no reason because look at all the other boyfriends who do it for their girlfriends! They want their bragging rights too, damnit!
Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s very sweet of a boyfriend to send flowers, just because. I love flowers and sweet surprises. I fully support a guy being romantic whether it’s his girlfriend of 3 months or his wife of 23 years. I would be sad to be without that sort of affection.
But the upload-to-Facebook along with the same-exact-comment every time, is just making it a lot less special, and a lot less personal, if you ask me.
This is basically how I feel things have become:
If a tree falls in the woods but no one hears it, did it make a sound?
If something great happens but you don’t share to Facebook, did it even matter?

I feel the same way! Also, everyone thinks her boyfriend is the best, so stop trying to pretend yours outshines all others. I exercised serious self-control the other day to not comment on someone’s FB “but I thought your old bf was the best ever.”
